{"id":13833,"date":"2026-01-02T11:58:22","date_gmt":"2026-01-02T10:58:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.olcgs.org\/?p=13833"},"modified":"2026-01-21T11:04:25","modified_gmt":"2026-01-21T10:04:25","slug":"strengthening-a-culture-of-care-and-safeguarding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.olcgs.org\/es\/strengthening-a-culture-of-care-and-safeguarding\/","title":{"rendered":"Espacios de Encuentro: Fortaleciendo una Cultura de Cuidado y Salvaguarda"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>By Francisca L\u00f3pez Arias, Province Safeguarding Team, Chile (Province of Bolivia and Chile)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Within the framework of our Good Shepherd commitment to care, dignity, and the creation of healthy environments, the Congregation and the <a href=\"https:\/\/fundacionmadrejosefa.cl\/\">Madre Josefa Foundation<\/a> carried out, during the months of November and December 2025, two significant initiatives of visits, risk assessment, and formation. These were aimed at <strong>strengthening community life, mutual respect, and safeguarding <\/strong>across the various places where the mission is carried out.<\/p>\n<p>Between November 13 and 15, a <strong>Visit and Risk Assessment<\/strong> was conducted at the Mar\u00eda del Camino Community in Talca, Chile. This initiative brought together 26 participants, including sisters and partners-in-mission. The three days were marked by attentive listening, deep dialogue, shared celebrations, and fraternity, fostering a deeper understanding of the community&#8217;s lived reality.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-13862\" src=\"https:\/\/www.olcgs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Screenshot-2026-01-21-094711-1024x419.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"327\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.olcgs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Screenshot-2026-01-21-094711-1024x419.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.olcgs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Screenshot-2026-01-21-094711-300x123.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.olcgs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Screenshot-2026-01-21-094711-768x314.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.olcgs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Screenshot-2026-01-21-094711-18x7.jpg 18w, https:\/\/www.olcgs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Screenshot-2026-01-21-094711.jpg 1187w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Through individual and group interviews, a risk assessment was conducted\u2014following the experience in 2024 at the Nazareth Community in Puente Alto\u2014with the aim of strengthening the many positive initiatives already in place and proposing new ideas to further enhance community care. In this context, a safeguarding workshop was also held, during which \u201c<em>recipes for dialogue<\/em>\u201d were created and displayed on the community\u2019s safeguarding wall.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-13864 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.olcgs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Screenshot-2026-01-21-094759-300x172.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"172\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.olcgs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Screenshot-2026-01-21-094759-300x172.png 300w, https:\/\/www.olcgs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Screenshot-2026-01-21-094759-1024x588.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.olcgs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Screenshot-2026-01-21-094759-768x441.png 768w, https:\/\/www.olcgs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Screenshot-2026-01-21-094759-18x10.png 18w, https:\/\/www.olcgs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Screenshot-2026-01-21-094759.png 1137w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Subsequently, on December 1, a formation day was held with the community and the team of the Madre Josefa Foundation in Iquique, with the participation of 19 people, including Sisters Mar\u00eda In\u00e9s Vicencio and Eliana Aguilar, together with the Foundation\u2019s team. This gathering, facilitated by Francisca L\u00f3pez and Ver\u00f3nica Reyes, made it possible to deepen understanding of updates on healthy environments, tools for team analysis and communication, and to create spaces for reflection, collaborative work, and the projection of future challenges to enrich workplace and community microclimates.
