She also expressed gratitude to Sr. Linda Buck, CSJ and Sr. Mumbi Kigutha, CPPS, and the facilitators for guiding this challenging and enriching formation process. Acknowledging the suffering of our world\u2014war, displacement, fear, and brokenness\u2014she invited all to listen to the cry of those who are vulnerable and ask themselves, \u201c<em>whose pain do I carry?<\/em>\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Each day began with <strong>a grounding ritual<\/strong>, offering the sisters a moment to become still, reconnect with themselves and with God, and prepare their hearts for the work of the day. These moments reminded participants that transformational leadership is not only about developing capacities, but also about deepening one\u2019s inner life, listening with the heart, and learning to lead from a place of rootedness and peace.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-14733 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.olcgs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/20260504_093943_169-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.olcgs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/20260504_093943_169-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.olcgs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/20260504_093943_169-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.olcgs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/20260504_093943_169-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.olcgs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/20260504_093943_169-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.olcgs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/20260504_093943_169-18x10.jpg 18w, https:\/\/www.olcgs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/20260504_093943_169.jpg 1565w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For many participants, the call to attend was rooted in a longing to serve with greater authenticity, wisdom, and love. <strong>Sr. Bernadetta<\/strong> from <strong>Burkina Faso<\/strong> expressed this clearly: \u201c<em>What inspired me to participate in this transformational leadership training is the joy of encounter, the joy of being with my sisters, and the desire to develop my leadership so that I can truly be myself, serve better, and respond more effectively to the needs of my brothers and sisters in my community, in my Congregation, and in the mission<\/em>.\u201d She added that she felt the need \u201c<em>to develop attentive listening before responding, to grow in self-awareness, and to build trust in myself and in others<\/em>. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-14735\" src=\"https:\/\/www.olcgs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/5_169-1024x576.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.olcgs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/5_169-1024x576.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/www.olcgs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/5_169-300x169.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.olcgs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/5_169-768x432.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.olcgs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/5_169-18x10.jpeg 18w, https:\/\/www.olcgs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/5_169.jpeg 1470w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This intercultural dimension of the gathering meant sisters from different regions and backgrounds came together with their own histories, struggles, and hopes, and, in doing so, experienced the shared journey of the Congregation more profoundly. <strong>Sr. Jossie Sili<\/strong> from <strong>Malaisie<\/strong> reflected, \u201c<em>Learning alongside participants from diverse regions and backgrounds has been a deeply enriching experience. Leadership in the Good Shepherd mission is always relational, and many sisters named listening as a central area of transformation. <strong>Sr. Nancy Wanjiru Kamande <\/strong>du <strong>province d'Afrique centrale orientale <\/strong>reflected honestly on how the program helped her become more aware of her communication style. \u201c<em>The training has influenced the way I listen to others<\/em>\u00bb, a-t-elle d\u00e9clar\u00e9. \u00ab<em>At the soft skills level, I am able to listen more attentively. It was about inner transformation. Again and again, participants spoke of leadership as something rooted in prayer, presence, relationship, discernment, and integrity. <strong>Sr. Alfonsa<\/strong> from <strong>l'Indon\u00e9sie<\/strong> described the experience as far more than training: \u201c<em>For me, this experience has been much more than leadership training. It has been an inner journey. She described the program as a shift in the way she sees herself, relates to others, and understands leadership. \u201c<em>I have learned that leadership is not about being perfect but about being more aware, grounded, and connected with others<\/em>,\u201d she said. I want to lead in a way that creates space for others to contribute, grow, and flourish<\/em>.\u201d She continued, \u201c<em>And perhaps most importantly, I want to practice leading from presence rather than urgency, from trust rather than control, and from hope rather than fear<\/em>. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>In this sense, the Transformational Leadership Program in Angers has planted seeds that will continue to grow far beyond the gathering itself.
