As we approach the 63rd Session of the Commission for Social Development (CSocD63),  Good Shepherd International Justice and Peace, as a proud member of the NGO Committee for Social Development, invites you to participate in a series of events designed to foster collaboration, dialogue, and advocacy on critical social development issues.

The Civil Society Orientation Session, taking place on Sunday, February 9, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM Eastern Standard Time, offers a hybrid format to accommodate both in-person and virtual attendees. This session, held at the Church Center’s second floor (UN Plaza, New York) and via Zoom, will prepare participants to engage actively in CSocD63. The event will feature a panel discussion on this year’s priority theme, interactive breakout sessions to strategize future engagement, and a networking brunch.

Morning briefings with UN DESA and Bureau Members are scheduled for Tuesday, February 11, and Thursday, February 13, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM Eastern Standard Time. These briefings offered virtually via Zoom, provide a concise yet impactful opportunity to engage with key leaders and stay updated on the latest developments during the commission.

The Civil Society Forum, one of the key highlights of the week, will take place on Friday, February 14, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM Eastern Standard Time in Conference Room 4 at the UN’s Headquarters in New York. This year’s Forum will explore the theme, “Strengthening solidarity, social inclusion, and social cohesion to accelerate the delivery of the commitments of the Copenhagen Declaration on Social Development and the Program of Action of the World Summit for Social Development, as well as the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.”

The Forum will include opening remarks from key leaders in the UN and civil society, thematic sessions that delve into grassroots perspectives, intergenerational collaboration, and safeguarding the future, and contributions from distinguished speakers, including ambassadors, UN representatives, and grassroots leaders.

Good Shepherd International Justice and Peace Main NGO Representative Kimberly Happich Moloche together with Marides Santos will serve as co-chairs of the Civil Society Forum and invite you to join them!

For in-person attendance, RSVP at https://tinyurl.com/CSF2025-rsvp. For those unable to attend in person, the event will be streamed live on UN Web TV.

This unique gathering offers an important platform for meaningful dialogue, the exchange of ideas, and collaboration with diverse stakeholders dedicated to social development. It also provides a critical opportunity to reflect on and contribute to the upcoming World Social Summit in 2025.

We strongly encourage you to attend one or more of these events and bring your valuable insights to these important discussions! For additional information or questions, please contact: Kimberly Happich Moloche, at KMolocheGSIJP@gmail.com.
