The Good Shepherd International Justice and Peace (GSIJP) team extends a heartfelt thank you to all those who participated in the International Women’s Day 2025 Competition under the theme “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.” Your powerful contributions have raised awareness for gender equality and empowerment worldwide. On March 8, 2025, the winner’s creative work will be featured in a special video shared across our social media platforms. Additionally, the winner will receive a USD $100 prize for their impactful submission. Stay tuned for our announcement!
As part of our ongoing advocacy for women’s rights, GSIJP is deeply involved in the 69th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69) at the United Nations in New York, from March 10 to 21, 2025. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (1995), a landmark moment in the global effort to advance women’s rights. As a key partner in this advocacy, GSIJP is committed to elevating the voices of the most marginalized, especially through our faith-based approach.
On March 10, 2025, we will co-sponsor a high-level event, “Bankrupting the Business of Human Trafficking—Beijing +30: Techniques that Work.” This hybrid event will focus on innovative strategies to disrupt the global human trafficking trade, featuring experts who will discuss methods like financial and risk analysis, tracking illicit profits, and prosecuting traffickers. We invite everyone to join us either in person or virtually through this link and be part of this essential conversation!
The following day, March 11, 2025, we will co-sponsor another important event, “Beijing Platform for Action: Women and Church Action for Gender Equity,” at the Church Centre at the UN. This hybrid event will explore the significant contributions of religious women in advancing gender equity since the adoption of the Beijing Platform for Action, with a focus on the faith-based perspective. In addition to these events, girls from Good Shepherd Asia Pacific and Latin America (REAL) have played an essential role in preparing documents and resources for CSW69. Their involvement ensures that young girls take on leadership roles in gender equality advocacy, amplifying their voices on the global stage. These girls are not only preparing for mission visits with member states but also shaping broader conversations about advancing gender equality and empowering women and girls.
At CSW69, GSIJP’s advocacy will continue to champion the needs of the most vulnerable populations, striving for lasting change in the global effort for gender equality.
