Across the Good Shepherd network, sisters and partners-in-mission bring complementary gifts, professional expertise, lived experience, and spiritual commitment to a shared mission.
Together, we work through action, advocacy and spirituality to empower lives, uphold rights and restore dignity.
One mission, shared by many
Partnership has been part of the Good Shepherd story from its beginnings. Our mission has grown through relationships between sisters and people who share the call to respond with compassion, courage and justice.
Partners-in-mission are people who freely choose to accept co-responsibility and work collaboratively to advance the Good Shepherd mission. They include staff, volunteers, board members, benefactors, associates, companions, professional advisers, community collaborators and many others who put the mission and its values into practice.
Partnership is not centered on the sisters, nor is it simply a response to fewer religious vocations. It is centered on the mission. Sisters and partners-in-mission have distinct vocations and roles, but belong to one body and share responsibility according to their gifts, experience, and responsibilities.
Become a Partner-in-Mission
There are many ways to share in the Good Shepherd mission. Depending on the country and local ministry, you may be able to:
- Work or volunteer in a Good Shepherd ministry;
- Contribute professional or technical expertise;
- Serve in governance or on an advisory body;
- Join formation, advocacy or community initiatives;
- Support the mission and its ministries; or
- Participate in prayer, reflection and Good Shepherd networks.
