Good Shepherd International Justice and Peace
A Universal Culture of Justice
As an NGO in Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations, since 1996, the Congregation has official representation at the United Nations Offices in New York and Geneva. This important engagement is carried out through our Good Shepherd International Justice and Peace team.
Through our status, the Congregation is able to meaningfully participate in UN events. The team serves as the Congregation’s dedicated entity addressing matters of justice, peace, and the integrity of creation.
Through our advocacy work, informed by our six Position Papers, we influence policy on economic, social, and environmental development issues at the highest political levels. We collaborate and network with governmental and non-governmental organizations to promote a universal culture of justice and to advocate for changing policies that exclude, and systems that dehumanize.

Natalia shares her experience as a survivor of human trafficking and her experience with Fundacion Levantate Mujer in Bolivia, reinforcing the importance of survivor voices in shaping how protection, recovery, and justice are designed.
The recording of our parallel event during the 70th Commission on the Status of Women: Ending Trafficking Together: Good Practices for Girls and Women, organized by Good Shepherd International Justice and Peace and the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary, with the support of Misean Cara, the Permanent Mission of Ireland to the United Nations, the Permanent Mission of Kenya to the United Nations, Soroptomist International, Good Shepherd International Foundation, and the NGO Committee to Stop Trafficking in Persons.
The team at Levántate Mujer Foundation, a work of the Congregation of Our Lady of Charity of the Good Shepherd in Bolivia, demonstrate how prevention, survivor accompaniment, and evidence-informed practice intersect to ground lived realities in effective support for survivors of trafficking.
A GSIJP CSW70 Parallel Event highlighting global and regional work combatting gender inequality in migration. This event featured representatives from Good Shepherd programs around the world addressing current migration trends in the Lebanon, Central America, Ireland, and the United States, as well as expert practitioners in migration global advocacy, to discuss both policy work and lived realities.
