From June 25 to July 5, 2025, the Province of Argentina-Uruguay had the great blessing of receiving a visit from members of the Congregational Leadership Team – the presence of whom was a true gift from God for our communities.
We experienced the deep compassion and tenderness of Jesus the Good Shepherd through close contact with Sister Joan Marie Lopez, our Congregational Leader, and members of her council: Sisters Mirjam Beike, Erika Sanchez, Yolanda Borbon, and Edith Olaguer. During these days, we shared enriching dialogues, moments of formation and renewal, and joyful celebrations of prayer.
Their journey included visits to cities in Argentina such as Buenos Aires, La Rioja, and Córdoba, where they met with sisters from across the province, as well as Montevideo in Uruguay. Each encounter was a life-giving experience that renewed commitment and strengthened everyone’s spirit. We are sincerely grateful to our dear sisters for their dedication and devotion to each community they visited.
A particularly moving moment was the visit of Sisters Joan, Mirjam, and Edith to our contemplative community in the city of La Rioja. For two days, we shared in fraternal communion, discovering God’s presence in our lives in a deep and meaningful way. Each sister was able to open her heart and reflect on the current challenges of contemplative life. We felt heard, welcomed, and strengthened in our reality as a community.
Having our congregational leaders among us was a profound joy, and we felt accompanied, inspired, and supported in faith. We trust that, with God’s grace, we will be able to put their words and recommendations into practice, always allowing ourselves to be guided by the Holy Spirit. Let us continue to support their transformative leadership with our prayers.
The Eucharist celebration with contemplative partners-in-mission was a moment of special communion, as they expressed, with simplicity and depth, how they live the contemplative dimension in their daily lives, further enriching this spiritual encounter.
Sisters and partners-in-mission across Argentina and Uruguay deeply appreciated the time, wisdom, and life experiences shared by the Congregational leadership, who demonstrated their tireless effort to remain faithful to the Good Shepherd mission entrusted to them.
Let us continue walking together, in prayer, with renewed hope and open hearts, to reflect God’s compassionate love in every corner of Argentina and Uruguay.
