Dear Sisters and Partners in Mission,

It is with great joy and a deep sense of connection that we reach out to you as we prepare to celebrate our 200th Jubilee Year of the Contemplative Sisters.

This milestone offers us a precious opportunity to come together, honoring the remarkable journey that has united us in mission and purpose. As we look back with gratitude and look forward at the dawning of newness, we invite each of you to join us in commemorating this sacred time.

Together, let us celebrate our cherished heritage and the spirit that continues to guide and inspire us.  It is a celebration that marks God’s faithfulness and our world-community’s shared journey in mission. Together, let us honor the rich legacy of our contemplative mission and look forward to our continued transformation in the years ahead.

Celebrating the Jubilee Year

11 November 2024 is the launch of the year of Anniversary and Jubilee, and it will be officially celebrated with the Eucharist in our chapel at the Motherhouse in Angers, France, at 10.30 am.  So as to be united in this celebration, we invite you to organize a Eucharistic Liturgy in your own communities to mark this special occasion.

Ritual and Prayer Opportunities

A special ritual* has been designed for use during the Eucharistic Liturgy to invite reflection and renewal.

We encourage you to use the ritual for your Eucharistic Liturgy or in prayer gatherings and for personal prayer throughout the Jubilee Year.  The ritual encompasses the following key elements which we are all invited to reflect on:

  • Thanksgiving for our shared mission
  • Our role in the holy work through the mission
  • Shared blessings that bind us together in unity
  • Deepening of our collective spiritual journey

Our hope in inviting a united celebration is so that we refresh the deep connection that is alive across the congregation in relation to our mission and the lives of sisters, partners in mission, friends and program participants. Thank you all for your active participation in this celebration.  May this Jubilee Year be a time of renewal, gratitude, and joy for all of us.

United in Mission,

Congregational Leadership Team
